Hey there friends! I’m back!! So…you may have noticed, but I basically fell off the map for the past 7 months! While this year has been really fabulous (moving back to California, getting to be closer to our families, etc.) I am not going to lie, the past year has been a little challenging from a work/life balance standpoint. I’ve now been in my “new” job for a year!! (It’s flown by!) But, I also work quite a bit. Admittedly, this year wasn’t my best in terms of keeping in touch with people in my life, getting to see my friends, or taking care of myself (ie: working out, relaxing, investing time in things I love). The perk: In the time off that I did capitalize on, we have gotten to spend a lot of time with family, and I of course do always prioritize spending time with my amazing hubby (who hasn’t been around much either due to having to travel all the time for his job).
My birthday was a few weeks ago, and I did a lot of thinking about what I want to accomplish this year, and what I want to make sure that I am consistent with moving forward. While I’m really happy that I threw myself into my new job and company (and really am loving it, and learning a ton!), I recognize that I need to start getting better at managing my work/life balance. In working as much as I have been, my beloved blog sadly fell to the way-side. I missed the creative outlet, and I missed my interactions with you guys (my friends, peers and supporters!). So….I’m happy to say….”I’m back!”. Back to regular blog posts about fashion, lifestyle and travel! Thanks for sticking by Sparkle in Your Step! 🙂 You guys rock!
Here’s some of what the past 7 months have looked like!
Family Selfie: My little sister got married to the man of her dreams in April! It was the most breath-taking day! Such amazing memories, and she was the most stunning bride you have ever seen! Check out more about her wedding and beautiful honeymoon on her blog, http://dresschicforme.com/
Like I mentioned, we’ve been really lucky to get to be close to family again! And we’re getting to see them a lot, which I’m super grateful for! I mean…look how fun they are! 🙂
My coffee cup from Intelligentsia really gets me (I still miss New York City every single day, but am also falling back in love with Los Angeles).
Jason and I celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary and took a trip to Europe! It was really incredible! (Check out the upcoming blog posts about it!)
Makeup free selfie in my awesome Monorail Espresso sweatshirt that one of my best friends bought me as a gift. We visited this lovely coffee shop together in Seattle (which happens to also be her new home!) and I loved it so much I wanted to purchase this sweatshirt. They were out of smalls unfortunately, but Katie later went back and got it for me! I got it in the mail after a really tough day at work and it made everything better! 🙂 Thankful for my incredible friends! ❤
There has been a lot of Auntie Melis time with my beautiful nieces recently. Guys, being an Aunt is literally the best! Love getting to spend time with these cutie pies!
My dad’s gorgeous roses! He totally has a green thumb and when I’m home, I just admire how beautiful my parents’ garden is.
Our dog Penny makes everyone smile
Getting back to blogging….I really missed it 🙂
