Jewelry Obsession

I’ve always been someone who loves fashion. Ever since I was a little girl I’ve loved the fact that fashion is a way to express yourself. To me, fashion has always been about creating a “look”. I’ve always felt that make-up, beauty, hair, accessories, clothes, shoes and confidence are all part of “fashion”. Growing up with my little sister being only 20 months younger than me, we both lucked out and essentially got two wardrobes. Although we had different styles and personalities, we were the same size most of our childhood and could easily swap clothes with each other when something in our own closet didn’t seem sufficient. Although trends came in and out of my fashion perspective (flashback to the days where I wore only bright blue eye shadow and rocked out crimped hair, or to 6th grade where my entire wardrobe was made up of pieces by Roxy…apparently I’ve always wanted to be a surfer girl), one thing stayed consistent…my love for jewelry! In second grade I was known for my matching jewelry sets. I had a coveted collection of earrings depicting different holidays (hanging snowmen earrings, bunny earrings for spring, etc). Later that year, I founded “Kidz Biz”, a jewelry making company where we created handmade jewelry. Pins, earrings and necklaces were made in abundance. While I served as CEO, my sister was VP and our friends made up all the key other board member positions. We’d sell our hand-crafted pieces to the neighborhood parents, my parents’ friends and at garage sales. While we were “successful” from a profit standpoint, I’m pretty sure that somewhere my Mom has a huge collection of “Kidz Biz” pieces, as she was by far our most important customer (and investor).
Since I’ve always been obsessed with jewelry, I wanted to share some of my favorite pieces of the moment.

Necklace: J.Crew (http://www.jcrew.com/womens_category/jewelry/necklaces/PRDOVR~22258/22258.jsp) Bracelet: House of Harlow (http://www.houseofharlow1960.com/collections/spring-2012/jewelry/pyramid-bar-cuff), Watch: Michael Kors (http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/michael-kors-runway-chronograph-watch/2972103?origin=category&contextualcategoryid=0&fashionColor=&resultback=0),

One of my best purchases ever! I wear this fabulous necklace with everything! It’s J.Crew from several years ago.

I almost always have earrings on! It’s just one of my things. Whether it’s a pair of pearls or something big and flashy, I love earrings! Here are some of my favorites!
Left to right: A pair of earrings from Istanbul, Turkey (a lovely gift I received!), Marc Jacobs, Chanel, J.Crew

There are two rings that mean the world to me: My engagement ring, and my wedding band! (Both which I am obsessed with). But, I do love rings in general. Let’s face it, a great cocktail ring can make an outfit!
Left to right: A set that I received as a gift (from Turkey), David Yurman (http://www.davidyurman.com/shoponline/suite.aspx?itemid=-20PC&folderid=/women/rings), Ostbye (http://www.ostbye.com/pr/rc08f05sq/8/293/5226) (I got this ring from my Aunt and Uncle’s Jewelry store, Roland’s in Tell City, IN.
