Summertime in Istanbul

I spent a week in Istanbul earlier this summer with Jason, while he was living there doing a language program! As usual, I absolutely loved spending time in this beautiful city! This trip I actually didn’t do a ton of sight-seeing. I really just spent time relaxing and hanging out with Jason, friends and family. If you want some suggestions for Istanbul restaurants/things to do, please check out my post from February, called “Istanbul, I love you!”

Hi Melissa, I love your blog! Chris (Chavez) and I are going to Turkey this October and I literally just started doing detailed research and read somewhere that you need a Visa. Can you let me know if you guys did in fact need a Visa and if you had to get one ahead of time or at the airport?

    Thank so much!

Hi Holly! Yes, I heard from Chris that you guys are going! So excited for you! I’ll give Chris a call tomorrow to share some info. Yes, you do need a Visa. You used to be able to just pay the $20 at the Turkish airport and buy the visa on the spot (which you may still be able to do). But, I suggest just buying an e-visa and saving it on your phone/ipad, etc. This is what I did when I visited Turkey most recently. Here’s the link: https://www.evisa.gov.tr/en/ Let me know if you have other questions. I’ll email you and Chris some “must-see things/restaurants, etc.). Hope you guys are well! 🙂
